Bhaktapur tipper hit kills minor

Kathmandu, February 20

An eight-year-old girl died in a tipper hit in Bhaktapur, the eastern part of the Kathmandu valley, on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as Binita Magar. Magar was hit by the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 7352) in the Sudal Ranibari area in Changunarayan municipality-8 in Bhaktapur at around 10 pm yesterday.

She is a resident of the Mahabharat rural municipality-2 of the neighbouring Kavre district but was residing in Bhaktapur as her father, Surya Bahadur Magar, would work for a brick kiln there.

Seriously injured in the accident, Magar breathed her last at around 4 am on Sunday during treatment at the Madhyapur Hospital, informs Raju Pandey, the information officer at the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.

The Metropolitan Police Circle in Jagati has arrested the tipper driver Rajesh Kusma (27), a resident of Jela, Bhaktapur municipality-8 for further investigation and action.
