Australian Ambassador to Nepal Simon Ernst met Prime Minister Balen Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two discussed bilateral relations between Nepal and Australia, mutual cooperation and issues of common interest.
Nepal and Australia have maintained long-standing diplomatic, educational, development and people-to-people ties.
According to the Australian Embassy in Nepal, cooperation in education, development assistance, trade and relations with the Nepali community have further strengthened ties between the two countries.
The embassy said the meeting with Prime Minister Shah was part of continued diplomatic engagement aimed at maintaining and strengthening Nepal-Australia relations.
