Kathmandu, September 22
A man has been arrested on charges of fraud after promising to secure jobs in the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and as forest guards.
The arrested man is Raj Shrestha, 39, of Devchuli Municipality-7 in Nawalparasi, who was posing as Mohan KC. He was arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. Since a case is pending against him in Kailali, he has been sent to the Area Police Office in Bhajani, Kailali.
Police said he had defrauded people of Rs 2.73 million. He is accused of opening a bank account under the citizenship of Mohan KC, obtaining SIM cards from various companies, and defrauding victims by luring them with the promise of jobs.
