Agricultural products worth Rs 1.32 billion were exported through the Kakarbhitta Customs Point in the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
The Office of the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Centre in Kakarbhitta reported that the major exports included black cardamom, tea, plywood, ginger, broom grass, and others.
According to Information Officer Santosh Thapa, the highest earnings came from tea exports worth Rs 380 million, followed by black cardamom at Rs 324 million. Plywood and veneer worth Rs 268 million were also exported.
Thapa added that agricultural imports through Kakarbhitta amounted to Rs 1.69 billion during the same period. Imports included millet, beans, legumes, rice, fresh vegetables, fruits, garlic, potatoes, maize, and livestock feed.
