Police have arrived at the office of Naya Patrika daily, with five plainclothes officers reportedly asking to take its correspondent, Navaraj Mainali, to the Cyber Bureau.
The five officers, who identified themselves as being from the Crime Investigation Office in Teku, arrived at the newspaper’s office a short while ago.
According to Naya Patrika Editor Khagendra Pant, the officers are waiting in Mainali’s office, saying they need to take him to the Cyber Bureau.
“Five police officers have arrived. They do not have an arrest warrant. They are asking us to make the correspondent available,” Pant said.
Earlier on Friday, police also took Bishwamani Subedi, who works at Nepal Press, into custody.
