Kathmandu, October 8
Voting to elect the new leadership of the Nepali Congress has been delayed again, with the Election Committee now scheduling the voting process to begin at 2:30pm.
Voting was initially scheduled for 10am but was first pushed to 1pm and then to 2pm.
Election Committee member-secretary Raju Katuwal said voting would begin with the oldest voters at 2:30pm.
Election Committee member Sujan Lopchan said all the ballot papers had not yet arrived at the polling venue.
“Not all the ballot papers have arrived. Some have started arriving,” Lopchan said. “We are ready to sign the ballot papers. The ballot papers did not arrive on time due to a technical problem at the printing press. We have scheduled the voting process to begin at 2:30pm.”
The delay has further pushed back the voting process for the Congress leadership election.
