Three candidates have filed their nominations for the post of Nepali Congress president ahead of the party’s 15th General Convention election scheduled for October 8.
According to the election committee, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Shyam Krishna Khadgi and Kishor Singh Rathore have registered their candidacies for the top party post.
Khadgi was the first to file his nomination, followed by Thapa at around 6:30pm.
Rathore arrived at the nomination venue after Thapa and has now formally registered his candidacy. Rathore had won the position of joint general secretary at the Nepali Congress’ 14th General Convention.
