South Korean pop group BTS won three awards at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), adding another major achievement to its award history.
At the ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, BTS members Jin, V, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook and RM won three trophies for their song “Swim” and the group’s achievements.
BTS won Song of the Year and Best K-Pop for “Swim” and also took home the Best Group award.
The group made a clean sweep of all the categories in which it was nominated at this year’s VMAs. Its Song of the Year win was particularly significant, making BTS the first K-pop group to receive the award.
The Best Group award marked BTS’s fifth win in the category. The group previously won the award four consecutive times from 2019 to 2022.
Following the wins, BTS thanked its fan group ARMY through its agency BigHit Music.
“We sincerely thank ARMY for always giving us unwavering love and support,” the group said. “Arirang is an album that feels like a new beginning for us, so these awards are even more meaningful.”
BTS said winning Song of the Year for “Swim” was possible because of everyone who loves its music. The seven members also pledged to continue creating and performing music together.
