Kathmandu, September 27
Flooding on the Kaligandaki River has washed away 80 houses in Farse settlement, located in Jaljala Rural Municipality-8, Parbat district.
Shailendra Thapa, co-spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, said 80 houses were swept away after floodwaters entered the settlement.
Residents began moving to safer locations after floodwaters started entering the settlement on Saturday night. The Armed Police Force said no information on human casualties has been received so far.
After receiving reports that other houses in the area were also at high risk, a joint team from Armed Police Force Nepal No. 25 Chandika Company, Parbat, and Nepal Police relocated remaining residents and their belongings to safer ground.
Further details are still awaited, as the area is currently facing power outages and phone connectivity issues.
