Aravind Kumar Jha, general secretary of the All Nepal Kabaddi Association, has been elected secretary of the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF).
According to the All Nepal Kabaddi Association, Jha was elected to the post at the IKF General Assembly held in Japan.
Jha said his election would make it easier for Nepali players to gain international exposure and contribute to the development of kabaddi in Nepal.
“It will make it easier to gain international exposure and will support the development of kabaddi. Two international events are now being held in Nepal, and this will also help those events,” Jha said.
He said both international competitions to be held in Nepal were also approved by the General Assembly. The Four Nations Cup is scheduled to be held in Nepal in November, while the Asian Women’s Championship will be held in March.
The All Nepal Kabaddi Association said the election of a Nepali representative as secretary of the International Kabaddi Federation was an important achievement for Nepali sports.
The All Nepal Kabaddi Association congratulated Jha and wished him success in his new term.
