Nepal’s Sabita Rai finished 10th in the women’s Taijiquan and Taijijian events in wushu at the ongoing 20th Asian Games in Japan.
Rai finished 10th among 12 competitors at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall, scoring 9.183 points.
China’s Qin Tong won the gold medal with 9.783 points. Japan’s Shiho Saito claimed silver with 9.740 points, while Singapore’s Jian Zhi Ning Lau and Brunei’s Basma Lachkar won bronze medals with 9.740 and 9.720 points, respectively.
Nepal has fielded 10 athletes in various wushu events at the Asian Games. Along with Rai, Nepal’s Vijay Sinjali has also been eliminated from the competition after competing in the men’s Changquan event.
