Kathmandu, September 17
A foreign climber died while attempting to climb Mt Manaslu in Samagaun of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1, Gorkha.
According to police, 50-year-old Singaporean national Lau Wee Seng died on Thursday.
District Police Office Gorkha DSP Raj Kumar Shrestha said Seng died while returning to the base camp from Camp II after he had difficulty walking and sat down at the spot.
An effort has been initiated to recover his body in coordination with locals and the trekking agency, Shrestha said.
Seng had obtained permission through the Eight K Expedition company to climb Mt Manaslu. He had arrived in Samagaun on September 7 to attempt the mountain.
