Two teenagers arrested for allegedly attacking a cow with a stick in Lamki, Kailali

arrested

Dhangadhi, September 17

Police in Kailali have arrested two people accused of beating a cow with a stick and injuring it in Lamkichuha.

The district police office said the two arrested are 18-year-old teenagers residing in Lamkichuha Municipality-1.

Kailali Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Chand said the arrests were made by the Lamki Area Police Office. He said an investigation has been launched after registering a case against both under the offence of killing/harming cattle.

Three days earlier, a cow was found injured east of the electricity office in Lamki, along the East-West Highway, after apparently being struck with a stick. The investigation later established that the cow had indeed been attacked.

CCTV footage showed the attack taking place at night, with a group of six to seven people visible at the scene. Police made the two arrests based on that footage and say they are searching for the others involved.
