Electricity service has been restored in wards 10 and 11 of Bidur Municipality in flood-affected Nuwakot district.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said the government has stepped up efforts to restore electricity services disrupted by the floods in Rasuwa.
According to the secretariat of Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, electricity service has also been restored in flood-affected wards 10 and 11 of Bidur. Similarly, electricity service has resumed in Tarkeshwar Ward 4, which was also affected by the floods.
According to the ministry, around 83 per cent of electricity services in Rasuwa and around 95 per cent in Nuwakot have so far been restored.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to distribute 2-kilowatt solar systems through the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre for community shelters, as well as individual solar systems to households based on their needs in areas where electricity has yet to be restored.
Employees and technical teams from the Nepal Electricity Authority and staff from the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre have been continuously deployed in flood-affected areas to restore electricity services.
