Government to provide risk allowance, Rs 1 million relief to rescue personnel

Kathmandu, September 3

The government has decided to provide risk allowances and meal expenses to security personnel and government employees deployed for search and rescue operations following the flooding of the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel said the Cabinet meeting held Thursday afternoon made the decision.

The government has also decided to provide free medical treatment to security personnel and government employees injured during rescue operations.

Under the decision, made on the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the families of any security personnel or government employees who die during search and rescue operations will receive Rs 1 million in relief, according to Pokharel.
