Army chief Ashok Raj Sigdel visits Rasuwa, Nuwakot to monitor rescue efforts

Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel has travelled to Rasuwa and Nuwakot to monitor ongoing search and rescue operations following the Bhotekoshi flood.

According to the Nepal Army headquarters, Sigdel visited the affected areas on Thursday to inspect the search and rescue operations underway inside hydropower tunnels.

He also inspected other affected areas and directed the agencies involved to maintain effective coordination and cooperation while continuing the search and rescue operations with high morale.

The Nepal Army has been leading search and rescue efforts at several hydropower projects where people are believed to have been trapped following the flood. International teams and technical experts have also joined the efforts.
