Twenty-four bodies have been recovered from inside a single house in Betrawati, located in Bidur Municipality-10 of Nuwakot.
According to Nuwakot District Police Chief SP Bipin Regmi, the bodies were recovered from the building that housed Uttargaya Mini Mart in Betrawati.
“We have searched as much as our capacity allows and recovered 24 bodies. There are still other areas that need to be searched,” Regmi told Onlinekhabar.
He said the bodies are currently being documented and efforts are underway to identify them. None of the bodies has been identified so far.
Once the documentation process is completed, the bodies will be sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for postmortem examinations, Regmi said.
The victims were found inside the house following the devastating flood that swept through the Trishuli River after the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa flooded on August 26.
