Kathmandu, August 30
Since the flood that struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on the morning of August 27, the Nepal Army has rescued 2,650 people as of now.
According to Army Headquarters, 54 people were airlifted from Timure, Syafrubesi, and Mailung on Saturday alone, including 46 Chinese nationals and 8 Indian nationals among them. Counting other locations, 550 people were airlifted on Saturday.
In total since the flood, the Army has rescued 2,650 people, 200 via ground rescue and 2,450 via air rescue. Among those rescued are 121 Indian nationals, 4 German nationals, 72 Chinese nationals, 2 American nationals, 2 Italian nationals, 1 Omani national, and 15 Korean nationals; the rest are Nepali citizens.
8,300 army personnel have been deployed for the rescue effort.
