Nepal Red Cross to provide free blood to flood victims

Kathmandu, August 30

The Nepal Red Cross Society will provide free blood for the treatment of people injured in the floods.

Nepal Red Cross Society Chairperson Bishal Bhandari said patients injured in the floods on August 26 and currently receiving treatment at various hospitals will be provided blood free of charge.

Bhandari also said the Red Cross would arrange transportation of bodies for families facing financial difficulties whose deceased relatives have been identified.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 242 people are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals. So far, 734 bodies have been recovered.
