The death toll from the devastating floods in Rasuwa has reached 626, according to Nepal Police.
The police, updating the figures at 2:50 pm on Saturday, said bodies have been recovered from eight districts affected by the floods.The highest number of casualties has been reported in Chitwan, where 233 bodies have been recovered.
Similarly, 158 bodies have been found in Nawalparasi East, 54 in Gorkha, 49 in Dhading, 47 in Nawalparasi West, 41 in Nuwakot, 31 in Tanahun and 13 in Rasuwa, according to police data.Police said 2,301 people have been rescued so far from the affected areas.Among those rescued, 1,622 were from Nuwakot, 676 from Rasuwa and three from Dhading.
The police also said 140 injured people are currently receiving treatment or have been discharged from hospitals in Kathmandu Valley.
Authorities continue search and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas, with several people still reported missing.
