Kathmandu, August 29
The number of tourists rescued from flood-affected areas or brought back into contact has reached 187, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
The board said in its latest update that 184 tourists have been rescued, while three others have been accounted for after previously being out of contact.
However, 420 tourists remain out of contact, according to the board.
Many tourists travelling to Kailash Mansarovar via the Rasuwagadhi border point were reported out of contact after floods hit the area on August 26.
Among those rescued, Indian nationals make up the largest group, with 114 people, according to the Tourism Board.
The rescued tourists include 27 Chinese nationals and 20 South Koreans. Four each are from Germany and Malta, while three each are from the United States and Italy.
The Tourism Board said most roads across the country have resumed operation, except for some sections in flood-affected districts.
It has, however, advised tourists to check weather conditions before travelling, particularly in areas affected by the recent floods.
The board is continuing to monitor the situation and provide updates on tourists affected by the floods.
