Nepali mixed martial artist Rabindra Dhant has reached the final of Road to UFC Season 5 after defeating New Zealand’s Kasib Murdoch by split decision in the bantamweight semifinal in Shanghai, China.
Dhant secured the victory after all three rounds went to the judges.
One judge scored the fight 29-28 in Dhant’s favour, while another gave the same score to Murdoch. The third judge also scored it 29-28 for Dhant, handing the Nepali fighter the split-decision victory.
Dhant will now face Ryo Tajima in the Road to UFC final. Tajima advanced after defeating India’s Chungreng Koren in the other bantamweight semifinal.
The final will determine the winner of the Road to UFC bantamweight tournament, with a UFC contract at stake.
Rabindra Dhant had previously defeated Kimbert Alintozon by second-round TKO in the opening round of the tournament
