Kathmandu, August 27
Chitwan Police have arrested two men accused of removing earrings from the bodies of people who died in the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa.
Police launched an investigation after a video showing people removing earrings from a flood victim’s body went viral on social media.
The arrested men have been identified as 25-year-old Madan Gurung, a permanent resident of Binayi Tribeni Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi who has been living in Chitwan, and 38-year-old Umesh Chaudhary, originally from Sunsari and currently residing in Chitwan.
According to Chitwan Police, both men have been arrested after being identified from the viral video.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
