Kathmandu, August 24
Nepal A registered their first victory in the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia’s Northern Territory, defeating Hobart Hurricanes Academy by 39 runs on Monday.
Chasing a target of 155, Hobart Hurricanes Academy were bowled out for 115 in 18.3 overs.
Nitesh Samuel top-scored for Hobart with 37 runs, while Tim Ward made 23 and Nivethan Radhakrishnan contributed 20.
Narayan Joshi was Nepal’s leading bowler with three wickets. Pawan Sarraf and Shah Alam claimed two wickets each, while Bipin Khatri took one.
Earlier, Nepal A, after being asked to bat first, scored 154 for eight in their 20 overs.
Kushal Bhurtel was Nepal’s top scorer with 39 runs, while Anil Sah made 28 and Lokesh Bam remained unbeaten on 20.
For Hobart, Raph McMillan took three wickets for 18 runs in four overs. Marcus Bean claimed two wickets, while Bradley Hope and Nivethan Radhakrishnan took one each.
Nepal had lost their opening two matches of the tournament before securing Monday’s victory.
Nepal A will play their fourth match against ACT Comets on Wednesday.
