Prime Minister Balendra Shah has stated that the Nepal-India border issue will be resolved through diplomatic discussions. While responding to members of parliament in the House of Representatives on Sunday, he said efforts are underway to resolve the matter.
He also claimed that Nepal has encroached on Indian land as well.
“After becoming Prime Minister, I found out that it is not only India; Nepal has also encroached on India’s land,” Prime Minister Shah said. “Both sides will need to sit down and look into this matter.”
He also informed parliament that the Indian government has responded to the letter Nepal sent regarding the encroachment of Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura.
“There has been talk of holding table talks on the land issue,” he said. “We have also discussed this with the British government. Table talks need to happen on this matter.”
