Investment Mega Bank CEO Pandey arrested

Kathmandu, May 13

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Jyoti Prakash Pandey, CEO of Nepal Investment Mega Bank.

He was apprehended at around 8 pm on May 12 from the bus park of Kamalmai Municipality-6, Sindhuli district, according to CIB spokesperson Shiva Kumar Shrestha. He has since been brought to Kathmandu.

He is accused of being involved in the illegal auction of Smart Cell’s assets.

CIB spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shrestha stated that an investigation has been initiated against 63-year-old Pandey, under the charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust under the National Criminal Code.
