Charandas Chor hits the stage at Mandala Theatre

Kathmandu, March 13

The staging of the historic play Charandas Chor, written by renowned Indian playwright Habib Tanvir, has begun at Mandala Theatre Nepal, Kathmandu.

The play will run until March 25. Known for its sharp social satire, folk style, and profound exploration of moral questions, the play has earned a distinct place in South Asian theatre. In Nepal, this work has been staged by Mandala Theatre in various phases.

The Nepali version of the play has been translated by Aashant Sharma and Rajan Khatiwada. The initial direction was done by Khatiwada, after which Bikash Joshi presented the play with a new perspective.

The current production is directed by Milan Karki. The play will be staged every day at 5:15 pm (except Mondays), with two shows on Saturdays at 1:15 pm and 5:15 pm.
