Players demonstrating at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) headquarters hung their medals on the main gate on Wednesday.
The protest, organized by the Nepal Football Players Association, was held in front of the ANFA headquarters in Satdobato against the decision to postpone the A-Division League until next year.
The association said players were compelled to take to the streets to defend their fundamental right to play.
Association president Bikram Lama announced that the players would leave their medals at the ANFA gate. “Let ANFA come and collect these medals themselves. We are leaving them here,” Lama said.
Players stated that repeated requests not to delay the league had been ignored, leaving them with no choice but to protest.
ANFA has decided to organize a national league in January and start the A-Division League only in January next year.
