Way to reach Thorong La Pass

Lamjung’s district headquarters, Besisahar, is known as the gateway to the Annapurna trekking route. From Besisahar, the trail passes through Khudi, Bhulbhule, Ngadi, Syange, and Jagat, then through Manang’s Tal, Bagarchap, and Chame, reaching Thorong La Pass before descending into Mustang. Completing this route marks the end of the Annapurna Circuit trek.
For trekking enthusiasts, crossing the 5,416-meter-high Thorong La Pass is often considered a personal achievement. Both domestic and international trekkers feel fortunate to make it across.

Domestic tourists often visit Tilicho Lake and then continue to Thorong La Pass. Locals say that foreign tourists from across the world frequently come here to explore the area.
Recently, domestic tourists have also been more visible. Locals are pleased that the number of Nepali visitors has increased since vehicles began reaching Manang.
In the past, the Annapurna Circuit was known as a long trekking route. However, after the road network extended to Manang, the trek became much shorter. What once took three weeks can now be completed in about ten days since the roads connect Manang, Mustang, and Lamjung.

After visiting Tilicho Lake in Manang, trekkers can also head toward Thorong La Pass from Shree Kharka, though most people choose to visit only Tilicho.
