Kathmandu, August 19
A fatal road accident occurred this morning at Pashudanda in Damak municipality-7 along the East-West Highway, resulting in one death and one injury.
The incident took place when a truck loaded with vegetables struck a motorcycle (registration number: Pra1-01-012Pa 9312), killing the pillion rider on the spot. The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Muna Gautam of Kamal rural municipality-5.
She was riding pillion on the motorcycle being driven by her spouse Sukadev Gautam, 43, who sustained injuries in the crash. The injured is undergoing treatment at Damak Hospital, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka.
The truck driver, identified as 25-year-old Angdawa Sherpa of Laligurans municipality-4 in Tehrathum, has been taken into custody for further investigation into the accident.
