Three Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugees from the same family have died in a shooting in Texas, USA. Among the victims was a young child.
According to CBS News, the incident took place in an apartment in Dallas, Texas, last Saturday morning, claiming the lives of 53-year-old Lalit Pradhan, his 35-year-old wife Ranjana Shrestha, and their 3-year-old son Pranish.
Ranjana and Pranish were found dead at the scene from gunshot wounds. Lalit, who was found seriously injured at the site, died during treatment, police officials said.
Lalit had been resettled to the U.S. about a decade and a half ago from the Bhutanese refugee camp in Sanischare, eastern Morang. His wife Ranjana’s parental home is in Kathmandu.
