Binayi Khola bridge on East-West Highway comes into operation

Kathmandu, July 3

A newly constructed bridge over the Binayi Khola in Nawalparasi district has officially come into operation, easing transportation along Nepal’s vital East-West Highway.

According to Shiv Khanal, Information Officer of the eastern section of the Nagdhunga–Muglin Road Project, the new bridge was opened today, providing long-awaited relief to commuters frequently affected by road blockages at the site.

In the absence of a permanent bridge, travelers had faced repeated disruptions. A temporary diversion had been in place, but it was often washed away by floods, causing regular travel interruptions.

When the diversion was damaged, the local administration had no option but to suspend vehicular movement, further inconveniencing passengers and affecting transport flow.

With the new bridge now operational, authorities expect smoother traffic movement along this key national highway.
