The Esports World Cup will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8 to August 24. The PUBG Mobile World Cup will specifically be held from July 25 to August 23, where Horaa Esports will represent Nepal.

Horaa Esports includes the player Suraj Lama (Nofear), Aakas Sotang Rai (Skyhoraa)

Shital Rai (Sleepyhoraa), Ugyen Lama (Mafianinja), Prabesh Gurung (Haitdami).

Three Nepali teams, Horaa Esports, DRS Gaming, and Tribe Aeromacy (AST), participated in the PMSL CSA tournament held in Kazakhstan. Out of 20 total teams in the first phase, 16 advanced to the final round, including the three from Nepal.

According to the rules, only the top three teams from the final round would qualify for the World Cup. Mongolia’s Alpha Gaming topped the tournament and became the champion.

Alpha Gaming earned 170 points, while Horaa secured second place with 139 points. Pakistan’s 4Merical Vibes (Four Thrive Esports) came third with 137 points. Alpha Gaming, Horaa, and Four Thrive qualified for the PUBG Mobile World Cup.

From Nepal, team AST finished tenth and DRS finished eleventh, scoring 97 and 94 points respectively.

Previously, in 2022, DRS Gaming had achieved second place in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, and it remains Nepal’s biggest success in PUBG Mobile history.

The PUBG Mobile World Cup will feature 24 of the best teams from around the world, competing for a total prize pool of 3 million USD.

The 24 teams will be divided into three groups for the group stage. The top 8 teams from this stage will advance directly to the Grand Finals. The remaining 16 teams will enter the survival stage in the second round.

From the survival stage, another 8 teams will qualify for the grand finals, making a total of 16 teams competing for the championship. The team with the highest points will be crowned the PUBG Mobile champion.

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the Esports World Cup, which has significantly increased the popularity of the tournament.

The Esports World Cup has a total prize pool exceeding 70 million USD. Earlier, the prize pool was 62.5 million USD. This year, 26 events across 25 different games, including PUBG Mobile, will be held.

Horaa Esports owner Sanjan Gautam, also known as CR7 Horaa, said that qualifying for the PUBG Mobile World Cup is a significant achievement.

“We finished second in the final stage, but reaching the World Cup itself is a big deal. Our goal from the beginning was to be in the top three,” he said. “Looking at the last two games of the final round, we even had a chance to become champions. We learned a lot from this. The boys played well.”
