RSP MPs stage protest with blue ribbons over visit visa scandal

Kathmandu, June 17

Lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) appeared at the Parliament building today wearing blue ribbons.

They wore the blue ribbons as a form of protest in Parliament, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the visit visa scandal.

Blue is also the official color of RSP, and the party has long advocated for a “blue revolution.”

The RSP has described today’s blue ribbon as a symbol of the global campaign against human trafficking. “The blue ribbon globally symbolizes the campaign against human trafficking,” said RSP lawmaker Manish Jha.

Despite the protest by RSP, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire had moved forward with parliamentary proceedings on Sunday and Monday. Preparations are being made to proceed with today’s session as usual.

However, since the Speaker is still engaged in discussions, the session scheduled for 1 pm has not yet started.
