Dailekh District Court has ordered one of the accused of journalist Dekendra Raj Thapa’s murder to be remanded in judicial custody.

A single bench of Judge Dandapani Lamichhane on Tuesday made the verdict in this regard, ordering that Bam Bahadur Khadka be remanded to custody. Khadka of Dullu municipality-6, also a cadre of the then Maoist party, was arrested recently in Kailali, acting on the court’s order to arrest four murder accused on the loose since December 7, 2014, says Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Oli.

On August 11, 2004, Thapa was thrashed to death allegedly by the then Maoist cadres. Thapa’s body was recovered from a forest at the then Dwari VDC-1 in Dailekh district four years later.
