Kathmandu, February 3
The Agriculture Secretary of Nepal government, Yubak Dhoj GC, has resigned from his position. His resignation, however, is yet to be approved by the Cabinet.
It has been learned that GC resigned after he was offered the job of the regional chief of the Asia and the Pacific regional office of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
It has been three years since GC was promoted to the position. It means he still has two years before retirement.
A source in the ministry says GC is preparing to take up the new job in the third week of February. His decision to quit two years before retirement will deprive him of the pension.
GC had joined the government service around 18 years ago.
