Sankhuwasabha, September 18
At least six people have gone missing after a Dharan-bound jeep carrying patients plunged into the Arun River at 10:30 pm on Tuesday.
Of the six, three were of the same family.
According to police, the jeep (Ko 1 Ja 3749) skidded off the Akkar ridge at Dharmadevi municipality-8 and plunged into the river.
According to Mim Bahadur Lama, Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, two-month-old Samir Shrestha, his father Sangam Shrestha and mother Sadikshya Shrestha of Khandbari-9 are missing along with Pramis Thapa Magar, Khabarman Magar, and driver Santosh BK.
A police team was mobilised from Khandbari immediately after the accident. The rescue operation has been difficult due to the rising water levels.
