Kathmandu, March 20
Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s former President Pashupati Samsher Rana has been injured in police baton charge on Monday afternoon.
Rana was part of a protest rally shouting slogans against the Election Commission for removing ‘Hindu state’ and ‘monarchy’ from the party’s statute.
Police baton charged the demonstrators as they tried to enter a n0-go area in Kantipath. They also lobbed teargas canisters to disperse the crowd.
Rana has suffered injuries to his leg, he was later rescued by RPP supporters and police personnel. According to an RPP spokesperson, other leaders such as Kunti Sahi and Roshan Karki were also injured in the incident.
