Kathmandu, August 22
Nepal’s state electricity authority has restored power to the residence of 89-year-old former queen mother Ratna Rajyalaxmi Shah.
Nepal Electricity Authority’s Managing Director Mukesh Raj Kafle said power was restored after the culture ministry, which has been looking after the maintenance of Narayanhiti Palace, where Shah is living, agreed to pay electricity dues for Mahendra Manjil.
Power to Mahendra Manjil, the wing of the palace in which Shah was living, was cut as she had Rs 3.6 million* in dues with the authority.
