A total 5,068 new industries were registered in the Madhesh Province last fiscal year 2082-83 BS (2025-26) during that period, 1,101 were officially listed in Parsa followed by 777 in Dhanusha, 639 in Bara, 636 in Sarlahi, 554 in Siraha, 533 in Rautahat, 514 in Mahottari and 314 in Saptari, said Province Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Upendra Kumar Mahato, Information Officer of the Ministry, said that last fiscal year, 7,540 industries underwent a renewal process. As Mahato said, in the last fiscal year, 6,122 private firms and 18 partnership firms were newly registered, and 11,144 were renewed. However, a total of 1,938 industries and business enterprises were closed or deregistered during the fiscal year. Of them, 1,117 were from the commerce sector.

The closures have been attributed to the ongoing economic slowdown and other challenges, including liquidity constraints and a shortage of investment capital. Information Officer Mahato said that Rs 52.649 million in revenue was generated from the registration and renewal of industries and business enterprises.
