Udayapur, August 31
Police have seized a large quantity of marijuana from Shantiban forest in Banketar, Katari Municipality-6, Udayapur. Three people have been arrested on suspicion of transporting the marijuana.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Area Police Office, Katari, conducted a search of the Shantiban forest area at around 4 am on Monday. Police said they found 1,122.67 kilograms of marijuana concealed in 52 sacks.
Police also seized a Bolero pickup truck, registration number Ba 16 Cha 5269, which was allegedly used to transport the marijuana.
Those arrested on suspicion of involvement in the transportation of the marijuana have been identified as 55-year-old Ram Bahadur Magar, 21-year-old Nek Bahadur Magar and 46-year-old Prithviraj Magar, all from Dandagaun, Tapli Rural Municipality-1.
