Damauli (Tanahun), October 4
A total of 2,548 adolescent girls in Tanahun district have received the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer.
According to the Provincial Public Health Office, the vaccinated girls include 2,542 sixth-grade students studying in schools across the district’s 10 local levels and six 10-year-old girls who are out of school.
The vaccination campaign was conducted at 254 designated vaccination centres in schools across all 10 local levels of the district.
A total of 735 girls in Vyas Municipality, 469 in Shuklagandaki Municipality, 112 in Rishing Rural Municipality, 186 in Bandipur Rural Municipality, 216 in Bhanu Municipality, 238 in Bhimad Municipality, 226 in Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality, 92 in Ghiring Rural Municipality, 229 in Devghat Rural Municipality and 145 in Myagde Rural Municipality received the vaccine.
