2 killed, 16 injured in Dailekh minibus fall

Kathmandu, March 11

Two persons have died whereas 16 others have sustained injuries when a minibus fell off the road in Syalakot, Aathbis municipality-1 of Dailekh in the Karnali province on Thursday.

The vehicle (Karnali Province-02-001 Kha 0247) fell off around 100 metres down from the Karnali Highway after the driver lost control over the vehicle, informs DSP Anup Shrestha. The bus was coming to Surkhet from Kalikot.

The victims have been identified as Jitendra Bahadur Shahi, who appears to be in his late 30s, a resident of Shubhakalika rural municipality-1, and Kamal BK, 21, a resident of Naraharinath rural municipality of the Kalikot district. Of them, one died on the spot whereas another during treatment.

Among 16 injured, seven are critical. They have been sent to the Dailekh District Hospital for treatment whereas others are at nearby private clinics.

Further investigation is underway.
