The Armed Police Force has seized a large quantity of banned marijuana in Siraha.
A mobile patrol team deployed from the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 7 Battalion Headquarters in Siraha seized 157 kg and 207 grams of marijuana from the border area of Ittatar, Aurahi Rural Municipality-4.
According to the Armed Police, at around 1:35 am on Wednesday, individuals were illegally carrying the marijuana on their heads toward India when they spotted the patrol team and fled, abandoning the marijuana.
The patrol team took the abandoned marijuana into custody and has begun the process of handing it over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
According to Battalion Commander SP Suman Jung Thapa of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 7 Battalion Headquarters, Siraha, patrolling and surveillance have been further strengthened to control illegal activities in the border area.
