NSU cadres clash over 32 year age ceiling

Kathmandu, February 24

Cadres of Nepal Students Union, the student wing of the main opposition party Nepali Congress, on Sunday clashed over the demand of fixing an age limit of 32 years for membership of the student wing.

Those supporting and opposing the proposal had a clash over the issue in front of the party’s central office in Sanepa today.

Earlier, a group of the cadres had organised a demonstration in front of the party  office, demanding that the party find a solution to the existing NSU crisis.

Meanwhile, journalist Keshav Saud also sustained injuries in the clash.

After the clash turned violent, the party leadership has blocked the student leaders and cadres from entering the meeting hall, where the Central Working Committee meeting of the party is underway.
