ACC U-19 Asia Cup Qualifier: Nepal register thrilling win

Kathmandu, September 11

Nepal defeated Thailand by 255 runs in their first match of the ACC Asia Cup Qualifier (East region).

Anil Kumar Shah’s excellent batting and Sandeep Lamichhane’s bowling took Nepal to the thrilling victory in the match played in Malaysia. Lamichhane took seven wickets in four overs.

Thailand were all-out after they scored 26 runs in 10 overs as they were chasing the 282-run target posted by Nepal.

Earlier, Nepal has lost the toss and were invited to bat first. They made 281 runs at the loss of six wickets.

Shah had scored 91 runs including six fours and five sixes in 74 balls. Likewise, Pranit Thapa Magar scored 50 runs including three fours and one six in 61 balls.

Nepal hope to win the tournament and qualify for the U-19 Asia Cup and play against youth teams from test nations including India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and Pakistan.
