Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and the S24+ are the same with differences in size. Samsung has, however, changed the back which now comes with a matte finish. The frames are also matte with rounded edges. Both smartphones share the universal Samsung triple smartphone camera layout. Both smartphones are similar otherwise in terms of design to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+. The back is protected via Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 while the frame is built with space-grade Armor Aluminum.

There is also a significant change up front in the display with the much thinner bezels. The thin and equal bezels all around on both smartphones give a premium look. There is also the hole-punch cutout in the centre for the selfie camera.

Both Samsung Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ feature a vibrant Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The Galaxy S24 has a compact 6.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, offering a pixel density of approximately 416 ppi with a 90.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24+ has a larger 6.7-inch display, with a higher resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of around 513 ppi and a slightly increased screen-to-body ratio of about 91.6 per cent. Both the smartphone displays show 16M colours for a better colour experience.

The display on both smartphones is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and also has IP68 dust and water resistance.

The graphics are handled by the Xclipse 940 GPU for gaming and multimedia applications. It runs on the latest Android 14 and Samsung’s customized One UI 6.1.

The Exynos chipset is available all over the world except for the USA, Canada and China where the S24 and the S24+ share the same setup as the S24 Ultra which includes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with octa-core CPU and Adreno 750 GPU.
