Kathmandu, October 5
The Pashupati Shamsher Rana-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic and Prakash Chandra Lohani-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nationalist have decided to contest upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections jointly.
Further, the parties have also decided to use the single symbol–the plough in a circle–for the polls.
Earlier, both the parties had demanded a plough as the poll symbol; and the Election Commission had given the plough in a circle to Rana and the plough in a rectangle to Lohani.
Lohani says the two parties had agreed to use whichever symbol between two appears on top in the ballot paper earlier and hence they have decided to go for the plough in a circle as it appears in the seventh number in the ballot. The plough in a rectangle appears in the 34th number.
