Nepal secured a resounding 9–0 victory over Laos in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers (Group F) at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Uzbekistan on Sunday.
Captain Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’ led the charge with four goals, while Anita Basnet, Saru Limbu, Anita KC, and Rashmi Kumari Ghising each added one goal. Additionally, an own goal by Laos defender Saysamone Inthaphone, two minutes before full-time, further extended Nepal’s lead, according to the AFC.
Nepal led 2–0 at halftime. Saru Limbu scored just two minutes into the second half, helping maintain momentum for the team. With this win, Nepal has collected three points in the group stage.
The match also marked Nepal’s 100th international appearance in women’s football. Group F includes Nepal, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, and Laos.
