NEA transfers 105 staff in major shake-up to control leakage

Kathmandu, August 22

The Nepal Electricity Authority on Tuesday transferred 105 staff in a major shake-up targeted at controlling electricity leakage.

Most of the transferred staff were working at distribution centres which had recorded the leakage in high amounts. Chiefs of such centres have been transferred to other places whereas the staff with good performance have been shifted to those centres.

The Commission, however, said it is a regular administration change arguing keeping a staffer at a same workstation for long reduces work efficiency. The transfer aims at increasing willpower of the staff, it claims.

Some months ago, the NEA had transferred more than 2,500 staff.
